Valley of the Waterfalls

I recently had the joy of recording this video in the heart of Yosemite National Park, an experience made even more special by sharing it with my mom and brother. These are moments I’ll carry with me forever.

My mom has been so supportive of my music ever since I began playing at the age of 8. It’s truly because of her unwavering support that I was able to pursue harp. She always encouraged me to practice and made incredible sacrifices for my musical journey. She would even drive up to three hours each way just to take me to lessons. I’m endlessly grateful for the belief and effort she poured into helping me grow and all of the “harp time” we spent together. So many of my childhood memories are of the two of us traveling across rural Montana for me to play at events around the state.

For their visit, we spontaneously decided to take a road trip to Yosemite National Park, which I had never been to before. What an amazing place! From the towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls to the ancient Sequoias and the peaceful river winding through the valley, it truly felt like Heaven on Earth. I’m so grateful to experience the stillness and wonder of creation there.

There’s a part of a melody I played there that has been with me since childhood, something I’ve carried in my heart, waiting for the right moment to share it. It’s a melody about overcoming, about walking through adversity with faith, and remembering that we are never alone. We are deeply loved and held by God. I’ve played it through tears many times, always feeling that same quiet reassurance, a prayer of faith and resilience. To play it here was beyond words, and I could’ve stayed in that moment in front of these falls forever.

Later, I learned that I had been playing in front of Yosemite Falls, the tallest known waterfall in North America, standing at an incredible 2,425 feet (739 meters). It was truly an honor to bring my harp to Yosemite, to play in the valley, and to share those incredible moments with my mom and brother.

With all my heart, thank you for your continued support, your beautiful comments, and for allowing me to share my music here. Not too long ago, I was in a corporate role, and years passed with me playing very little. That season taught me so much, too, but I’m grateful I found my way back to the harp. Just know that it is never too late, it’s never too late to have faith, to answer the call, it’s never too late to start believing in yourself, to dream. To be here with you is a dream come true for me, and I’m deeply grateful for you.
