It’s hard to put into words how much this place means to me. The space between the trees, bathed in gentle light, it holds a special place in my heart. Almost a year ago, when I first began recording myself improvising in nature, this was the very spot where I filmed my second session. At the time, I was still learning how to use my camera, how to film myself, shooting on auto settings, and just beginning to reconnect with the harp after years away. There’s still so much I have to learn, and I’m deeply grateful for the journey.

I recently took some time to travel and was away from my harp. I missed it dearly, and as soon as I returned home, I knew exactly where I wanted to play. My heart filled with gratitude to be here again, to be alive, to breathe in the scent of redwood trees and earth, and to play in this sacred place. And to think, it almost didn’t happen. When I arrived, I realized a part of my camera tripod was missing. I couldn’t use it. But just across from where I was setting up, facing this very spot, was a picnic table, the perfect height and distance to be a makeshift tripod. I'm truly grateful. All of the music is improvised from a few compositional ideas, flowing with the rhythm of this wonderful, beautiful space.
